Create my Own Bag

How does it work?

Mestessa bags consist of modules that together make up a handbag. Think flaps, handles, sides etc.! These modules make it possible to customize your bag the way you like. Not only in store, but continuously at home as well! Each bag style has its own modules which are interchangeable to allow for different color and pattern pairings. Want to have a bag with a white body, blue sides and grey handles? First pick your bag style and then add the different color and pattern options for the different modules. A party upcoming and looking to replace your bag's blue sides by a funky pattern? For sure! Just go to our Modules shop and browse all the different colors and patterns available.

Can I use modules from one style bag with another style?

No, each bag style has its own modules. Although you could easily interchange items like handles and shoulderstraps for some styles, in principle each bag style is designed to have its own fitting modules. We therefore strongly recommend that you carefully check the style of any module that you buy on its own, to make sure it fits your style handbag!

Can I purchase other modules at a later stage?

Yes! This is the whole idea behind the Mestessa concept. You can purchase modules at any time to make sure you continue to have the perfect bag for the perfect fit! Just make sure you buy the modules that fit your style bag and zip & clip them on your bag?s body right at home or on the go!

Can I make changes after adding my bag to my shopping cart?

You can make changes in quantity and delete items for modules and accessories directly in the cart.

Will all bag styles and modules continue to be available in the future or do you regularly discard older style models and modules?

Our bag styles are the base of our concept, so we are committed to keeping the same styles of bags available for the foreseeable future in order for you to continue to enjoy and add to your existing bag without the worry of modules no longer being available. Over time we might decide to phase out certain bag styles that no longer fit customer preferences or become outdated. As long as we carry a certain bag style though, we will continue to offer you a wide selection of modules to play around with!

Will all colors and patterns continue to be available in the future or do you regularly discard colors and patterns?

We offer a base selection of colors that are continuously available throughout the year and in addition we offer fun new colors, patterns and textures for the seasons. Seasonal colors are only available for that season.


Can I save items in my shopping cart to save for later?

Yes, you can! Your cart will automatically be saved for a few days. Alternatively, make sure you have logged in to your profile and your shopping cart will automatically be saved for a longer period.

Can I create a wishlist or let my (in)significant other(s) know which item I like?

We are working on it and hope to implement this feature soon. If you sign up for our newsletter, we will let you know as soon as we add the option to our webstore!

Can I send a bag or accessories as a gift?

Yes, you can! Click our 'Item is a gift' button in the check-out process and select the occasion. Since our bags make such great, personalized gifts, we are working on giving you more options to create the perfect present in the near future! Sign up for our newsletter to stay posted!

Do you have giftcards?

We are working on it and hope to have giftcards available soon. If you sign up for our newsletter, we will let you know as soon as we add the cards to our webstore!

What happens when it says the product I want is backordered?

Argggh, sorry! You are definitely up to speed on current trends as you have chosen a popular item! We are doing our best to get your item in as soon as possible but it might take a bit of time. If you leave us your email address when prompted, we will keep you posted on the progress! Also, continue to check our website as we do offer pre-order options as soon as new products are on their way.

What happens when it says the product I want is available for pre-order?

You have great timing! Your item is making its way towards our warehouse and will be available to ship out in a matter of weeks. Although we cannot guarantee an exact arrival date, you will usually receive your item within the next 6 weeks. Don't pin us down on this though - if you need the item by a certain date, email us to make sure this is possible! We would hate to disappoint you!

Do you charge sales tax?

Mestessa does not collect sales tax in those States where we are not legally obliged to do so. This does not take away any personal responsibility you as a customer might have with regards to paying any sales tax due on Out-of-State orders, so please check your States' import tax rules and keep this in mind when taxes are due!


Do you ship everywhere?

Yes, we do. We ship from the US only though so make sure to order well in time! For more guidance check our shipping policy.

Do you charge for shipping?

All US mainland orders over $150 are free. Below this there is a small shipping charge. For exact charges, shipping outside the US mainland and international shipping, please check our shipping policy.

Could you expedite my shipment?

Yes, please choose expedited shipping at check-out. We do our absolute best to get your products to you as soon as we can!

How long does it take for my bag to arrive?

We aim to ship your package out as soon as possible, but please give it 4 to 10 business days to arrive. Although normally we are quite a bit quicker than that, this way you will not be disappointed in case it will take us longer to get your lovely creation to you! If you need your bag sooner than that, please choose expedited shipping at check-out.

How can I check my order status?

If you have a profile, log-in and access your orders tab. If you do not have a profile, you can check your order on the bottom of the page by clicking the 'My Orders' button and filling in your email and order number. We will also keep you posted on the progress of your order by email if you leave us your details.

The outer shell of Mestessa bags are made of Ecopelle, a high-quality Polyurethane (PU) material that is the highest standard for non-leather high-end European bags. Our Ecopelle fabrics are animal friendly, reputably sourced and of outstanding quality. Sturdy, longlasting, with a great weight and authentic feel, our Ecopelle fabrics give your Mestessa bag that extra wow factor! All the metalworks on your Mestessa bag are made of a metal alloy. The lining of the bags is made of a sturdy woven fabric.

Where are Mestessa bags designed?

Mestessa bags are designed in the land of the Dolce Vita. Yes, indeed. As our name Mestessa (Italian for Myself) suggests, we have our feet firmly in Italian soil with our beautiful bags designed in Italy. With the rest of the team here in the US quite jealous of their location, our Italy-based designer team has the same outstanding fashion reputation as their home-country and is elated to offer you the best designs and the most innovative bag concept the world has seen in quite a while!


Are Mestessa bags animal-friendly?

Yes, isn't it great! Our high-end leather-like Ecopelle material does not only look and feel like a quality product, but it means no animal cruelty either! You are getting the best of both worlds - a beautiful bag made of the finest material while being animal-friendly! So truly a guilt-free handbag!

Do you use recycled materials?

Yes, we do! We try to do our best to reduce our footprint and use recycled materials wherever we can. Plus, our gorgeous product boxes can be reused for all kinds of purposes!


What is your return policy?

We want you to be as pleased with our products as we are so offer you the option to return any item you are not completely happy with within a 30-day period. Please contact us at customerservice@mestessa.com or log in to initiate a return. Check our returns & exchanges policy for more details. And note, that our modular concept makes it extra easy to return only the part that you do not like instead of the entire bag!

My package arrived damaged, what do I do?

Please email us pictures at customerservice@mestessa.com with 14 days of arrival of your package so we can guide you through the process and get you a replacement item straight away. Check our returns & exchanges policy for more details.

Do I need a return shipping label?

No, we do not send out shipping labels. Simply take your return to your preferred carrier and ship it to us according to the instructions in the return confirmation email.
